Exciting changes are coming to Top Drives with our upcoming Event Bucketing improvements, set to be deployed via a server side update on Tuesday 25th February.

This update introduces a more refined background server architecture aimed at improving fair play across all Events, ensuring a better and more competitive experience for all players.

Why Are We Making These Changes?

Over time, we’ve received consistent feedback from players regarding under-filled leaderboards, where only 5-10 users compete instead of the expected hundreds. This has created situations where valuable prizes were awarded without meaningful competition, reducing the overall fairness and excitement of events.

The Event Bucketing improvements we are making will directly address this issue by refining how leaderboards are created and filled. With this new system, unnecessary, sparsely populated leaderboards will no longer be generated. Instead, players will be grouped in a way that fosters more competition, ensuring that every prize is truly earned.

How Will This Work?

With this update, the system will now prioritize filling existing leaderboards before creating new ones. This means that players will find themselves competing in fuller, more competitive leaderboards.

However, some existing rules will remain in place to ensure a smooth event experience. Notably:

• Towards the end of an event, no new leaderboards will be created. Instead, any remaining players will be placed into existing leaderboards.

What Does This Mean for You?

For Top Drives players, this update brings a significant improvement in event fairness. You can expect:

• More competitive leaderboards, reducing the number of scenarios where only a handful of players compete.

• A fairer distribution of rewards, ensuring that prizes are awarded through meaningful competition and are truly earnt.
